十宣放血联合加味柴胡加龙骨牡蛎汤治疗癫痫的临床观察

Abstract: Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of Shixuan bloodletting combined with Modified Chaihu Jia Longgu Muli Decoction in treating epilepsy patients under the guidance of the Shaoyang Pivotal Mechanism theory. Methods A total of 84 epilepsy patients admitted from January 2023 to April 2025 were enrolled in the research and randomly assigned to either a control group (n＝42) and an observation group (n＝42). The control group received conventional western medicine (sodium valproate) treatment, while the observation group received modified Chaihu Jia Longgu Muli Decoction and pricking bloodletting therapy at the ShiXuan in addition to the control treatment. Compared the changes in the frequency of epileptic seizures, duration of seizures, severity of seizures, electroenlephatogram (EEG), and quality of life of the two groups of patients after treatment. Results After treatment, the observation group demonstrated significantly lower scores on the National Hospital Seizure Severity Scale (NHS3) compared to the control group (P＜0.05). Moreover, the observation group showed significantly greater improvements in Quality of Life in Epilepsy-31 (QOLIE-31) scores and objective EEG parameters (P＜0.05). Conclusion Guided by the theory of Shaoyang as the pivot, the combined therapy of pricking bloodletting at the ten fingertips and Modified Chaihu Jia Longgu Muli Decoction resulted in reduced seizure severity, decreased abnormal EEG discharges, and improved quality of life.
