IL-6、CRP、PCT在轮状病毒与诺如病毒感染诊断及感染进展评估中的意义

Abstract: Objective To explore the significance of interleukin-6 (IL-6), C-reactive protein (CRP), and procalcitonin(PCT) in the diagnosis/differentiation and dynamic monitoring of rotavirus and norovirus infections. Methods The research period was from August 2024 to March 2025. 219 suspected infected children admitted to Jiangmen Maternal and Child Health Hospital were selected for the study, and IL-6, CRP, and PCT tests were performed. The results of virus nucleic acid testing (PCR) were used as the gold standard to analyze the positive detection rate, diagnostic efficacy, detection results of different virus types, and fluctuations in different periods of each protocol. Results The PCR results showed 100 true positives and 119 true negatives. Using PCR results as the gold standard, IL-6 was detected in 89 true positives and 109 true negatives. 91 cases were true positive and 111 cases were true negative for CRP detection. PCT detected 90 true positives and 110 true negatives. 98 cases were true positive for IL-6 + CRP + PCT and 118 cases were true negative. The specificity, accuracy, and consistency with the gold standard of IL-6 + CRP + PCT were higher than those of a single test, and the IL-6, CRP, and PCT levels in the norovirus group were higher than those in the rotavirus group (P＜0.05). The levels of IL-6, CRP, and PCT in the latent and recovery periods were lower than those in the acute period (P＜0.05). Conclusion There are significant fluctuations in the levels of IL-6, CRP, and PCT in rotavirus and norovirus infections, and the fluctuations vary at different stages. Specific test results can be used to assess the condition and adopt appropriate intervention plans.
